The ever-changing information and guidance regarding COVID-19 can be very overwhelming.  This makes preparing for the beginning of the 2021-2022 school extremely important.  All of us here at SHCS have been working diligently to ensure a smooth and safe opening for the entire community.  Using the most current information and guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), the Governor’s office, and the Catholic Diocese of Richmond we have prepared the SHCS COVID-19 Plans and Procedures document.  This document contains details about our plans for the school year, as well as information from the Diocese of Richmond and the VDH.  I ask that everyone take a few moments to review this information.

One topic on the minds of most is that of masking.  SHCS requires indoor masking for all persons (faculty, staff, students, parents, volunteers) in the school.  This statement is in agreement with the statement provided by the Diocese of Richmond, Office of Catholic Schools Superintendent Kelly Lazzara.

In closing, all of us here at SHCS are committed to doing our part in keeping our school community safe and healthy as we begin the 2021-2022 school year.  Please review all of the attachments along with all current CDC and VDH information.  Together, as a community, we will overcome the challenges presented by COVID-19 and remain a school “Where Tradition Inspires Tomorrow”.
Sincerely yours,
Matthew B. Weatherford
