Although I did not fully appreciate it at the time, my education at Sacred Heart Catholic School (SHCS) was one of the best gifts I ever received from my parents. The quality education was top notch. SHCS provided a very disciplined, but nurturing learning environment, and my teachers were always generous with giving individualized attention to the students who needed it. The curriculum was rigorous and always seemed to be at a level ahead of other schools in the area.
As a testament to SHCS’s success in preparing its students for high school, the valedictorian and the salutatorian (which is the position I held) of my public high school class of 489 students were both SHCS alumni, and four of the top-five ranked students had attended SHCS. This SHCS achievement is particularly impressive considering that my 9th-grade SHCS class only had ten students. At SHCS, my classmates and I were expected, encouraged, and challenged to dream big, to strive for excellence, and to seize opportunities to contribute to the community.
SHCS was not only a great start in my education, but also in life.
As a former SHCS student (1st-9th grade) and a parent of a SHCS student, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions my parents ever made to send me there and one of the best decisions my husband and I made to send our son there. We have seen tremendous personal growth with our son not only academically but also spiritually and socially. He does well with his studies but he also has what we believe is a strong social conscious and the desire to “do the right thing”. * In this day and age, my husband and I believe it is very important for children to have a good education and to also have instilled good morals, integrity, social understanding and acceptance. The teachers and staff of Sacred Heart Catholic School teach all of this in the classroom and by way of example. I know they love my child and every child at that school. We believe Sacred Heart Catholic School truly delivers everything our child needs to succeed and to be a good person.
I like Sacred Heart Catholic School because of the friendly and creative teachers that help teach you amazing things. I have made so many great friends at Sacred Heart. The teachers set aside time to help and improve every child’s love for learning. The teachers make everything fun to learn with creative projects. Sacred Heart is a kind and friendly place to learn.
Our testimonial- our son has been at Sacred Heart School since he was 5 yrs, starting out in Kindergarten. He is now in 2nd grade, 8 yrs old. As a parent, I have enjoyed watching him grow educationally and spiritually at SHS. The small class sizes allows him to receive individualized attention ,and more focused learning. The faculty and staff have been very warm and receptive to us since day one! The best part of my day is when I pick him up and he is happy, smiling and immediately begins to tell me all the wonderful things he learned and did in his classes that day! We found these elements at Sacred Heart Catholic School. We like the commitment to ethics and values, the appreciation of diversity, and the dedication of the faculty and staff. We have enjoyed the chance to be involved with the school through several volunteer opportunities that have helped us stay connected to the school community. Not only have our children developed life-long friendships, we have too.
When I was growing up, I often heard the television advertisement, “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” No truer words have ever been spoken. Education is the most important tool we can offer the youth of today. It will help them mee the challenges of their lifetime. Armed with it, they will be able to overcome obstacles and problems. Without it, they will be destined for a life of constant disappointment. An education does not guarantee success but levels the playing field for one to compete for the best jobs and opportunities in life.
As a concerned community citizen, one can depend on education to solve most of the challenges that confront us today. Education is a wise investment and important ingredient to building a foundation locally for commerce and medicine. Any city or town could actually measure the concern of its citizens by the level of their investment in education.

Sacred Heart Catholic School is a great place to go because everyone treats you equally. The teachers are always nice to you and know how to motivate you and help you with a particular subject. They will also help you discover things you didn’t know that you could do. The best part is you can practice your own type of religion. You could be from a Christian, Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist and Episcopal and everyone still accepts you as you are. These were some reasons why I like Sacred Heart Catholic School.
We feel blessed to have the opportunity to have our children attend Sacred Heart Catholic School. The faculty and staff treat our children like family and we couldn’t be happier with the education they are receiving. The teachers have always been very helpful and accommodating when addressing our children’s individual needs. They have gone above and beyond to make school a fun and comfortable environment in which to learn. It is this kind of attention and caring that has made Sacred Heart Catholic School an excellent choice for schooling our children.
